Intellimar CEO Named as Ernst & Young Maryland Business Services Entrepreneur of the Year

SYKESVILLE, MD — June 25, 2004 — Mark O. Oakes, President and CEO of Intellimar Inc, a leading provider of industrial physical security solutions, was named the Maryland Business Services Entrepreneur of the Year® (EOY) by Ernst & Young LLP. Ernst & Young presents its annual EOY award to the most successful and innovative entrepreneurial business leaders around the globe. EOY winners are entrepreneurs who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement. Oakes was selected from 28 finalists in Maryland by an independent panel of judges comprised of local community and business leaders. The award was announced at a banquet on June 17, 2004 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore.

Intellimar was formed in 1996 as a “one-stop” shop for physical security solutions, a market Oakes saw as underserved with the security market focused on electronic security solutions. That vision has paid off as company sales of physical security solutions have increased approximately 3,000% during the past three years with booked contracts approaching $16M for 2003.
